On Tuesday 20th April The Old Malden Cluster came together to participate in the 'Mini Olympics', a multiskills festival for year one and two pupils. During the morning session year one participated in events such as target throwing and low hurdle races. The cheering and enjoyment I am sure will have been heard back at their schools!

In the afternoon Year two participated in events such as obstacle races, skipping and speed bouncing! I was very impressed with the skill level of all the children who attended the event, Well done!

A special thanks must go to the year 6 leaders from Malden Manor who helped out at each station, they were excellent coaches and perfect helpers! Year 3 and 4 Multiskills/sports Festivals

Tuesday 22nd June 2010

As this festival was re-arranged from last year due to terrible weather we were hoping for good weather so the festival could go ahead.  Our wishes were granted and the sun shone over Malden Manor school as the Sports coaches came to deliver their Multi-sport taster sessions to the excited school children. The pupil's undertook sessions in Basketball, Lacrosse and Hockey. All children worked really hard and we were pleased that they had the opportunity to try the new sports on offer. We would like to thank the coaches who delivered the sessions. Marvin and Lloyd from New Connections Basketball, The Young Leaders from Cobham Lacrosse and  Vimal who was coaching the Tennis. To view more photos of this event please look in the Old Malden Gallery.

Tuesday 11th May 2010

With the weather closing in, the Old Malden cluster came together for the second of three of the multisports primary school festivals. Thankfully the weather held out and we managed to complete all the planned sessions. Four schools brought up to 16 pupils to participate in sports taster sessions. We would like to thank the children for their enthusiastic participation and the teachers and support staff who organised the children.  The coaches who delivered the sessions to the children were David from Richmond Volleyball, Oli from Mark Janes Golf Academy and Ben who delivered the cricket sessions. Thank you all the coaches! Finally, a big thanks must go to Knollmead School for hosting our event. To view photos of this event please look at the Old Malden Gallery.

Tuesday 22nd September

On a blustery day the Old Malden cluster came together to participate in their first  Multiskills/sports festival. The children tried their hand at Tri - Golf, Rugby League and Football. We were lucky enough to be supported this year by Mark Janes Golf Academy, Fulham Football Club and Harlequins Rugby League who sent coaches to deliver the sessions. The children had great fun and were taught new skills and sports that they may not have played before. This was done through a fundamental approach where skills were broken down to their basics, appropriate for the particular age group. We would of course like to thank all the schools who were able to make it and teachers and parents for their continued support. Thanks go to the coaches who made the sessions fun and action packed! A special thanks goes to Malden Manor Primary for hosting our event.
